Every week I’ll be debuting 4 new flavours to use as a barometer for what to showcase in the shop(THE SHOP!!!!!) once I open. It’s basically American Idol for my little ice creams. So if you really like one in particular, vote for it by buying MORE THAN ONE! The flavours that sell best will stay in the lineup. Or call me, we can figure out how to just mainline you ice cream direct to your house. Ice Dreamy!
1- PEANUT BUTTER CREME WITH DARK CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER TRUFFLES
This beauty has a peanut butter creme base that is light on texture and intensity. Honeyed peanut butter truffles(my dad’s recipe!) encased in dark chocolate are then nestled into the creme at the churn.
2- BRIAR BERRY WITH OATMEAL STREUSEL
Vanilla bean cream is layered at the churn with homemade raspberry/blackberry/red currant jam and crisp old fashioned oats roasted with farm butter, brown sugar and a tinge of cinnamon..
A departure from my usual ‘more is better” approach on….ok, life. Whole ginger root is flash blanched and infused with sweet cream(no artificial grossness). The ginger lends a softly sophisticated spice that serves as a palate cleanser for ambitious multi-course meals. Or… breakfast. Ice cream for breakfast.
MEXICAN HOT CHOCOLATE
Initial notes are deep chocolate, which warm up to cinnamon, and then leave a little tingle of cayenne behind. It’s a chocolatey-cold-warm-hot ice cream roller coaster. Kinda like a Willie Wonka Everlasting Gobstopper except you won’t turn into a blueberry, promise.
